Quinn Ray
Born and bred in Alamance County, Quinn Ray is a passionate advocate for North Carolina, always championing the welfare of its incredible residents. When he’s not fulfilling his responsibilities as a member of the Elon town council, you’ll find Quinn exploring the local culinary scene, perfecting his dad jokes, negotiating bedtime with his two young daughters, and grooving to the righteous vibes of Billy Strings.
Through his involvement in local and state politics, Quinn has gained a firsthand understanding of the intricacies and challenges facing communities across our state. Whether he’s addressing zoning issues, fixing potholes, navigating partisan divides, or debating the best local hotdog spot (Zack’s or Jim’s Tasty Freeze!?), Quinn is always striving to make the Tar Heel state a better place to live, work, and raise a family.
Daniel Ayers
Raised on a small farm in L.A. (Lower Alamance), Daniel Ayers is a tenth-generation Tar Heel with a love for all things NC. Growing up, he learned the value of hard work and giving back to the community. When he wasn’t splitting firewood with his Dad, he was volunteering with 4-H, Teen Court, Spring Friends Meeting, or the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council.
After college, Daniel returned home to teach North Carolina history and civics to any middle schooler who would listen (turns out, there’s a lot of ‘em!) As co-host of the Hometown Holler, Daniel relishes the opportunity to bring his love of civics to a statewide classroom! When he’s not promoting public education, healthcare access, and inclusive government, you’ll find him reenacting history, fishing, camping, telling dirty jokes, watching documentaries, and rasslin' with his loyal canine companion, Arlo.
